Frequently Asked Questions
Below is information relating to some of the common ways in which a Notaries services are required. Click on one of the links below to jump to that section.
What is Notarization?
Having a document notarized means the signer was physically present in front of a Notary Public and either 1) acknowledged their signature on a document or 2) took an oath swearing to the documents truthfulness. For instance, banks, lenders, financial institutions and the court system often require documents to be notarized. It’s the Notary Public’s role to verify the identity of the person in front of them and also confirm the signatory understands the meaning of what she or he is signing.
What is a signing agent?
A signing agent is a notary public who is also expert in loan closing documents. A lender, title company, or escrow service may hire a signing agent to handle getting documents delivered, signed, or processed efficiently and on time.
Do I need an appointment?

Why do I need to bring proof of identity?
